ITINERARY
Day 1: Arrival in Larnaca - Limassol
Arrival at the airport of Larnaca and transfer to the hotel in Limassol. Dinner and overnight stay for 7 nights.
Day 2: Excursion to Lefkara and Larnaca
This excursion brings us to the village Lefkara where the women manufacture the world famous embroidery with a fine tradition. This place will impress you with its folk art and traditional architecture. Go ahead to the village Kiti with its church Angeloktisti allegendly risen by angels. Next see the Lazarus-Church of the 10th century. The rest of the day is leisure time and offers you the possiblity for strolling and shopping at Larnaca.
Day 3: Excursion to Kurion – Paphos
Along the fair orchards and the cyprus avenues of Phassouri we reach the archeological excavation of the antique Kurion. Further we see the Geroskipou known as the “Holy Garden” of the goddess Aphrodite with ist church Ayia Paraskevi (9th century). Then discover the city Paphos once capital of the island. Today it is part of UNESCO’s World Cultural Heritage. Visitation of the ancient necropolis and the hellenic king-graves. In the afternoon walk along the picturesque harbour. Continue to the Aphrodite cliff “Petra tou Romiou”. Return to the hotel.
Day 4: Excursion to Nikosia
Nikosia is the capital of Cyprus. It possesses its own history with its ramparts of Venecian times and its divided Old Town. Possibility to view Cypress’ folk art and craft at different facilities. We visit the Johannes-Cathedral with its beautiful frescos. Then walk through the Old Town. In the afternoon we visit the archaeological Museum.
Day 5: Excursion to Troodos – Kykko Monastery
After breakfast go to the famous Trodoosmountains and see the Kykko Monastery which is the most popular cloister throughout Cyprus. It is also known as a pilgrimage site and owns a Maria icon. Moreover we visit the grave of the president of Cypress and the former archbishop Makarios III. In the afternoon we reach Lania surrounded by beautiful vinealleys. Return to the hotel.
Day 6: Limassol
Today you have the possibility for shopping and discover this beautiful landscape by your own.
Day 7: Limassol
Full day is leisure time. What about discovering Limassol on your own.
Day 8: Departure from Larnaca
Transfer to the airport of Larnaca and flight back home. |
