ITINERARY
1st day: Heimatflughafen – Berlin:
Arrival in Berlin. Overnight stay in Berlin

2nd day: Berlin:
After the breakfast you are going on a city tour including the most important sights of Berlin, for example the Kurfürstendamm, the television tower, the Alexanderplatz, the Brandenburg Gate, which used to divide the the former GDR from the FRG, as well as the Check-point Charlie, which branded the borderline and served as a transit between the East and the West, the House at the Check-point Charlie, which is nowadays a maseum to remind at the Cold War and the attempts to escape, the Holocaust memorial, the Reichstag and Victory Column. The last station for today is the park Marzahn with the Chinese Garden. The name of the Garden is “Garden of the moon” and it bacause of the town twinning between Berlin and Beijing. The planning was a gift from Beijing to Berlin. Overnight stay and dinner at the hotel.

3rd day: Berlin – Potsdam – Berlin:
After the breakfast we go by bus to the nearby city Potsdam. After a short tour with the bus we are going to visit the Sans-Souci Palace and Garden which Frederick the Geat let build as his summer residence. After this we move on into the town where we are going to have a look at the Dutch Quarter, the Church of St Nicholas and the Brandenburg Gate. Overnight stay in Berlin.

4th day: Berlin – Dresden:
After the breakfast we are moving to Dresden, which is also known as the ”Florence of the Elbe”, with city tour and visitation of the Russian Orthodox Church, the Carillon Pavilion with view on the Zwinger which is based on the architecture of an old Latin amphitheater. In the Salon of Mathematics and and Physics are some of the oldest and most important exhibits of scientific-technical instruments. The rebuilt Frauenkirche is also worth seeing. Passing the palace and the cathedral we cross the river Elbe and have a look at the Japanese Palace.

5th day: Dresden – Leipzig:
After the breakfast we go on a journey to Leipzig where we visit the Battle of the Nations Monument which was built in remembrance of the victory of the Allied over the armies of Napoleon. From the terasse you have a beautiful view on the entire city of Leipzig. Leipzig is also known for the trade fairs with the Trade Fair Sites and for the many publishers. In Leipzig one of the world’s first books was printed in 1481, the Glossa Super Apocalipsim. More than 35 established publishers have there seat here among them Grösch, Brockhaus and Reclam. The next stop is the main station, Europe’s biggest dead-end station, the Augustinerplatz, which is dominated by the towers of the university building. From there you tour the St Nickolas Church, the Goethe memorial, the old Town Hall and the St Thomas’s Church. Overnight stay in Leipzig.

6th day: Jena – Weimar – Erfurt:
After the breakfast the journey goes to Weimar where you can see many sights who remind at Goethe and at Schiller for example the Funerary Monument to Goethe and Schiller on a city tour. Furthermore there is the Palace and the Russian Orthodox Church. The next stop is the former Concentration Camp Buchenwald. Ride to Erfurt. Breakfast and overnight stay in Erfurt.

7th day: Erfurt – Eisenach – Berlin:
In the morning we are going to Eisenach, where we have a look at the 1999 by the UNESCO as a world heritage of humankind affiliated Wartburg with Luther’s room. This is where Luther used to hide when he was exiled by the pope and translated the bible in only ten weeks. Another cornerstone in the Wartburg’s history was the festival of the fraternity on the Wartburg. 500 student camo together to fight for a united nation state on the occasion of the 300th jubilee of the reformation and the fourth anniversary of the battle of the nations in Leipzig. This was the first civil-democratic assemblage in Germany. Subsequently ride back to Berlin. Overnight stay in Berlin.

8th day: return flight to Berlin
After the breakfast transfer to the airport an flight back.
