ITINERARY
Day 1: Arrival in Nice
Arrival in Nice. Warm welcome by an English speaking guide. Transfer to the hotel. Dinner at hotel. Overnight stay for 3 nights at Nice.
Day 2: Nice
Sightseeing tour through the city with its small places and alleys. We also will discover the Cimiez Hill, the Musee Matisse and the montain castle with a wonderful view over the landscape. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 3: Nice – Monaco - Nice
After breakfast we will visit the principality of Monaco. Monaco's exceptional location, between mountain and sea, its gardens, its athletic and cultural events...all qualities which make it the ideal destination for a romantic excursion. Overnight stay in Nice.
Day 4: Nice – Fréjus – Marseille - Avignon
In the morning we will drive to Fréjus and visit the “Cité épiscopale”. Then we go to Marseille and visit the famous “Notre Dame de la Grande”, where we will get a fantastic regarding over the landscape. Afterwards we continue to Avignon and visit the pop palace and the well-known Pont St. Benezet. Dinner and overnight stay at hotel in Avignon.
Day 5: Avignon – Nîmes - Pont du Gard - Orange
Travel to Nîmes where we will visit the Diana Temple, Amphitheatre and Maison Carée. In Uzes we will go to St. Theodorit cathedral, later to the Pont du Gard. In Orange we visit the theatre and the triumphal arch at the Via Agrippina. Dinner and overnight stay in Orange.
Day 6: Avignon - St. Remy - Les Beaux - Arles
Today we will drive to St. Remy we will look at the memorial of Vincent van Gogh. We will also see the Roman Monuments, the Mausoleum etc. Then we go to the city of ruins, Les Beaux,”The Death City”. Afterwards we go to Arles and visit the Amphitheatre and the St. Trophime church. Overnight stay in Arles.
Day 7: Avignon- St. Marie de la Mer - Aigues Morts - St. Gilles- Tarascon - Aix en Provence
Excursion to the Camargue. Visit of St. Maries de la Mer with its pillgrimage church. Afterwards we go to Aigues-Mortes and St. Gilles. In the afternoon we will visit the huge fortress in Tarascon. Continuation to Aix-en-Provence and overnight stay at hotel.
Day 8: Aix en Provence - Departure from Nice
In the morning visit of Aix en Provence and then we drive to the airport of Nice and flight back home. |
