ITINERARY
Day 1: Arrival in Munich
Arrival at Munich airport in the morning. Welcome by an English-speaking guide. Here we start our trip by bus to Upper Swabian landscape. On the way we make a stop in Bad Wurzach: Visitation of the most beautiful baroque staircase in Swabia in the former palace. Departure to Tettnang. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel in Tettnang.
Day 2: Upper Swabian Baroque Route
After the breakfast we go on a city tour through Tettnang, the city of castles and chapels: Visitation of the old town hall and the new Montfort palace. Then continue to Ravensburg. There we see the Welf ducal castle, the town hall, the middle-class houses and the church of our Lady. In the nearby city Weingarten guided tour through the basilica on the Martinsberg. The next stop is Steinhausen and visitation of the Rococo pilgrimage church. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel in Tettnang.
3rd day: Lake Constance
Today we go to Uhldingen. Visit of the lake dwelling of the Stone Age. The next station is Birnau where we see the baroque Minster cathedral, a pilgrimage church. In Meersburg we see the old castle which was built in the 16th and 17th century with the dynasty of princes and the museum. For the rest of the day you have the possibility to discover this medieval town by your own. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel in Tettnang.
4th day: Allgaeu and Lake Constance
After breakfast we drive to Wangen, a former imperial city with historical old town. Visit of the town hall, the church Holy Ghost and parish church. Afterwards we go to Bregenz, capital of the Austrian federal state Vorarlberg. Here we will visit the parish church St Gallus, the old town hall from 1511, the new town hall from 1686 and the Martins Tower (1599-1602), the emblem of the city. Continuation of the journey to Lindau where we see the St Peter’s church (11th century) which is a warrior memorial and the Stephan’s church built in 1180. Explore the beautiful domestic archtitecture from the 16th and 17th century during a ramble through Lindau. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel in Tettnang.
5th day: Departure from Tettnang / Munich
After breakfast check out and drive back to the airport of Munich. Flight back home in the afternoon. |
