ITINERARY
Day 1: Arrival in Berlin
Flight to Berlin. Welcome by an English speaking guide and transfer by bus to Usedom. Overnight stay at the *****hotel in Ahlbeck/Usedom for 4 nights.
Day 2: Usedom outing
The island apart of the sea presents itself with beautiful and still unknown sides. Among them the widest stream in Germany, the coast of the “small sea”, the town after which the island is termed or a “mountain” which made history. Furthermore we see by a moat surrounded Mellenthin castle which was commissioned by Rüdiger von Neuenkirchen in 1575. It is the most important ancient profane building on the island Rügen. Transfer back to the hotel and overnight stay.
Day 3: Stralsund and Rügen
After breakfast we go to Stralsund, the biggest city in the notheast of West Pomerania. The city is situated 5 m above the sea level and offers a huge variety of artwork buildings: Town Hall, St. Nicholas’ Church and the Ramparts. After this visit we continue to Rügen, Germany’s largest island. There is a fascinating alternation of cliffy steep coast, smooth sandy beach, blazing poppy fields, wooden hills and small lakes. In the late afternoon transfer back to Ahlbeck. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 4: Lagoon coast and Greifswald (on option)
In the morning we go to Greifswald, is a town in northeastern Germany. Located in the Pomeranian part of the state of Mecklenburg Western Pomerania, it borders the Baltic Sea and is crossed by a small river. We go further to the lagoon coast by bus, a natural landscape which was formed during the last ice age. Here we see the small ancient fishing villages such as Freest and Kröslin. Afterwards we return to Ahlbeck. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 5: Ahlbeck und Heringdorf – „Auf der Kaisermeile“
– on your own
Why the promenade is called “Kaisermeile” you will learn during the entertaining ramble on the promenade between the oldest and the biggest pier. The secret will be disclosed why here are so many gorgeous mansions, who used to live here and why the sea created one of the most beautiful beaches of the Baltic Sea. The afternoon will be free for your own leisure. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 6: Departure from Ahlbeck, Usedom /Berlin
After the breakfast transfer to the airport of Berlin and flight back home. |
