ITINERARY
Day 1: Arrival Istanbul
Arrival to Istanbul and transfer to the hotel.
Day 2: Istanbul
Full day tour in Istanbul. During the visit you’ll see the Byzantine Hippodrome, scene of chariot races and gladiatorial combat, the Obelisk from Egypt, the fountain of Willhelm II, the graceful Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia, the greatest church in Christendom for a thousand years and the eerie Sunken Palace cistern beneath it. Afterwards visit of the Egyptian Bazar, then continuation to the Galata brigde and the Caddesi Isklal, the shopping road in Istanbul. From the Atatürk monument we drive back to the hotel.
Day 3: Istanbul
In the morning we will visit the Topkapi Palace, the former residence of the Sultans of the Ottoman Empire. In the afternoon we board a ferryboat and cruise northward along the Bosphorus, the wide saltwater strait which joins the Black and Marmara seas, and separates the continents of Europe and Asia.
Day 4: Istanbul
The magnificent city of Istanbul has still more to offer. You will visit the Suleymaniye Mosque named after the famous Ottoman Emperor Suleyman, the Magnificent. This masterpiece of architecture was built by Architect Sinan, during a period when the Ottoman Empire was at its peak. The next stop is the centuries-old Grand Bazaar where over 3000 merchants are selling goods from jewellery to carpets. In the afternoon a collection of Turkish carpets from new to antiques will be displayed at the old city where you will have the chance to meet ladies that are viewing the carpets. The rest of the day is free of leisure.
Day 5: Departure from Istanbul
After breakfast check-out at the hotel, transfer to the airport of Istanbul and flight back home. |
