ITINERARY
Day 1: Arrival Ponta Delgada
Arrival in Ponta Delgada. Welcome by an English-speaking guide. Transfer to hotel in Sao Miguel. Overnight stay and dinner at hotel.
Day 2: Excursion Furnas
Furnas is one of the places far aside of the coastline. The valley of Furnas with the extinct crater and the nearby lake Lagoa is one of the most beautiful areas in Sao Miguel. Overnight stay and dinner at hotel in Sao Miguel.
Day 3: Terceira
After breakfast at the hotel flight from Sao Miguel to Terceira.The Old Town of the metropolis Angra do Heroisma belongs to the World Heritage Site of the UNESCO. Overnight stay and dinner at hotel in Terceira.
Day 4:Terceira
During the roundtrip in Terceira we will discover the third biggest island of the Azores. In the afternoon visit of a wine museum and afterwards a cheese production in a dairy. Overnight stay and dinner at hotel in Terceira.
Day 5: Ponta Delgada
Return flight from Teceira to Sao Miguel. We visit Ponta Delgada, the unofficial capital of the Azores. The centre is divided into three communities: Sao Jose, Sao Pedro and Sao Sebastio. In the early 16th century Ponta Delgada was a little fishing village; now it became the economical centre of the Azores. Overnight stay and dinner at hotel in Sao Miguel.
Day 6: Lagoa Azul – Lagoa Verde
After breakfast we start for a full day excursion to the lakes Lagoa Azul and Lagoa Verde, which are connected with a small bridge. A legend tells that both lakes arose from tears of a princess and a shepherd because of their forbidden love to each other. Overnight stay and dinner at hotel in Sao Miguel.
Day 7: Nordeste
Small but nice – this is the best description of a very pretty spot with charm and calmness. Enjoy one day of pure nature. Overnight stay and dinner at hotel in Sao Miguel.
Day 8: Departure Ponta Delgada
After breakfast check out and transfer to the airport of Ponta Delgada. Flight back home. |
