ITINERARY
Day 1: Arrival Cairo
Arrival at Cairo airport. Welcome by an English-speaking guide. Transfer to hotel in Cairo and overnight stay for 3 nights. Dinner at hotel.
Day 2: Gizeh and Sakkara
After breakfast visit of Sakkara. See Memphis, the former imperial capital and King Djoser’s pyramide. Then trip tp Gizeh with Sphinx. The pyramids rise up on the fringes of Cairo. Back to hotel.
Day 3: Cairo
Today experience the fantastic city of Cairo. Visit the Alabaster-mosque, head of the Coptic Quarter and its churches as well as the Egypt Museum. Then stroll around the bazar Khan El Khalili.
Day 4: Cairo – Luxor – Karnak
After breakfast check-out and transfer to the airport. Flight to Luxor. Embarkation on Nile cruise. Have a look at the temples of Luxor and Karnak, the mightiest temple complex of Egypt. Back to the cruise and overnight stay for 7 nights.
Day 5: Nile cruise
Today just enjoy your cruise on the Nile towards the city of Aswan.
Day 6: Edfo
Visitation of the Horus Temple in Edfu and unreveal the reason for the darkness inside. Ride to Kom Ombo. See the double temple of the gods Sobek and Haoeris. Proceed the Nile cruise towards Aswan.
Day 7: Aswan – Philae Temple
After breakfast our cruise continues but this time on a motorboat to the Pearl of Egypt, the Temple of Isis on the Philae Island. Then you head for the Aswan high dam and the Aswan quary granits. Back to the cruise.
Day 8: Aswan
Full day at leisure.
Optional: Full day trip to Abu Simbel and visitation of the Temples of Ramses II which are carved out of solid rock. Pharaoh Ramses II let them built for himself and its wife Nefertari. Back to the cruise.
Day 9: Nile cruise
Relax and enjoy the cruise towards Luxor.
Day 10: Luxor – King’s valley
After breakfast visit West Bank. See the Necrople of Theben, temple of the queen Hashepsout and the Colossi of Memnon.
Day 11: Departure from Luxor
After breakfast disembarkation and transfer to the airport of Luxor. Flight back home via Cairo. |
