ITNINERARY
Day 1: Arrival in Cagliari
Flight to Cagliari. You will be welcomed by our local guide. Transfer to the hotel. Dinner and overnight at hotel in Cagliari.
Day 2: Cagliari and environment
In the morning we will start with a sight-seeing tour through Cagliari. At noon you will try some wine, grappa, Mirto (Sardinian digestive) and some regional sweets. Of course pasta will be served too.
In the afternoon you drive to Capo di Pula, the ruins of Nora. You will have dinner in the restaurant „Il Corsare“, one of the best restaurants in Cagliari.
Day 3: Excursion to Barumini
Drive through the plain of Marmilla. Barumini is situated 4 km north of it. This small village is famous for the biggest colony of Nuraghes of Sardinia. Here you will visit the excavation area.
Lunch in a small, family owned pub.
Drive back to Cagliari and dinner at the harbour in a typical Sardinian tavern. Enjoy delicious fish and meat dishes.
Day 4: Excursion to Sant’Antioco and San Pietro
This trip leads to the south-east of Sardinia, to the isles Sant’Antioco and San Pietro. These islands are only four sea miles away from each other but, as the sea is very rough, it takes almost half an hour by ferry to get to Carloforte. There, you will visit the old city quarter Castello with its cobbled, narrow streets and stairs. Carloforte is the heart of Sardinian tuna fishing. Drive back Cagliari.
Dinner in a typical Sardinian restaurant in Cagliari, famous for its traditional dishes and delicious Sardinian wines.
Day 5: Departure from Cagliari
Breakfast and check-out at the hotel. Transfer to the airport of Cagliari and flight back home. |
